Default Seat Options

I am at the point of having all my interior out and all the new parts laid out to put it all back together again. The only thing I am torn about is repairing or replacing the seats. As long as I keep the old seats I am not against putting in new ones. I figure the cost to repair my originals to look and feel even halfway decent would buy me some really good new ones.
The major thing I have to consider is I have a long upper body and hit my head on the ceiling now. I know it will be worse with new foam in my old seats.
If anyone has pics of aftermarket seats I would like to see how they look.

As always thanks in advance.

Someone put some Fiero Seats in A C-3 said they were a good fit and had the cool little speakers in the headrest..Definently .A cheaper option than c-4 or c-5 seats

The little Fiero seats do work well and are not a bad little seat. My friend put some in an MG a few years back and they worked real well. I had thought about this the other day. I really liked the speakers in the head rest and he had a bass speaker in the back. It made a good little system.

Paul,
Several threads on this the past couple of weeks.... I remember some very nice two tone interiors in C3's. You might want to try an archived search in C3 section.
I have some from a 96 Saturn that I will be installing in my 76'. I got lucky, car was totaled but interior perfect and had not been weathered. $50 for the pair. They are black cloth with some gray striped hilights. Just need to cut the old track off. and then modify accordingly. Waiting for warmth.

Good luck with yours.

I got mine done localy for about 300$
I had a local upholstery shop make custom seats with the 77 logo stitched in the headrest,(because it is a 76/77hybrid) When he recovered the seats I asked him to add some side support on both the seat and seat back
(Something that was not in the original seat designs.)
a huge improvement over stock.

So if your not concerned with origionality it is a nice and cost efficient way to go.

Actually just learned through another forum member a couple of weeks ago.

I posted a R E A L L Y big pic and the flames began within seconds.

Look in your photo editing software......depending upon what you have, you should see an option to "resize" or "adjust image". When you click on this option, you will see height and width. I think the height on your pic was around 1700, I changed it to 500 and chose the option to keep proportions.

E-me if you need help. Moodvette@kscable.com

Well, here are my C4 (91) seats in my 71. I've posted them before so I thought people were tired of seeing them. :)

Zwede: Your seats are very nice. I am considering same for my 74. I realise that the cost of the seats can vary, how much time, money and fabrication skills and tools were needed? Not all of us have a shop. Most of us have just a garage that we have to share w/wife!

Zwede,
That is a very nice set-up. Despite the newness of mine I am tempted. Do they fit on the C3 tracks? Do the power options just lie dormant?

Paul73, I too am too tall in the torso, extra vertebrae in lower back, so seating in most cars is a real bitch for me....
I find that taking the carpeting and padding from directly under the seat mounts, and bending the front tabs untill they are directly inline with rails, then grinding off rear mounting tab rivits--removing tabs allows about 1/2 inchin front and nearly 2 inches in rear extra headroom, seat tilts back a bit more, but that's ok....I have a TT wheel, brought back off firewall 3/4 inches with wood spacer block, and the floorboard moved forward about 2.5 inches at bottom, pedals lowered also....this all took major surgery over last winter....
bunch of other things done too, so car way layed up for a while, but it sure helped getting in and out, and such...
I stuck with stock manual seat, which will slide still on the tracks..

you could mark the seat position and just eliminate the tracks entirely for another inch or so....but then it would not move of course...
about 90% of the power seats out there will just add to the minimum height in the car, even in the full down position...mechanism....and so will just add to the headroom problem...
