mine haven't been on in so long now on my 77 but i do believe my gap in the middle of the tops is ruffly a haly inch maybe 3/8 and mine are flush with the back pillar and made a straight gap from there. mine never came close to touching or a small gap. but mine might change here in a bit when i add the new stripping to them. got solar tops to but the dont fit for crap no matter how hard i try can't cap those things. don't like the anyway make my vette look likes its wear a ball cap lol.
Hi 69,
The AIM roof panel page, UPC1 F16, indicates .12" +- .06" for the center gap and .18" +- .06" for the rear gap.
Hope this gives you some idea what you're looking for.
Regards,
Alan
Alan71 has supplied the GM specs for the roof gap. But, I don't think I've ever seen one that had that small of a gap. My 'original and undamaged' '71 has a little less than 1/2" gap...and the appropriate adjustments have no more adjustment left in them. I would have to "massage" the stock parts to get that gap to match stock specs.
I think they leaked from the factory, never met a C3 owner I didn't like that didn't have leaky roof panels
quess i aint liked lol my tops weather stripping when i removed it turned to dust and i never once had a leaky top. had a leaky rear window ugh but that another story still don't understand that rear window and how it was in there.
Yes Sir: My original glass tops are 3/8" at rear & 1/4" at the front. I don't know if they leak or not, I've never had it in the rain. It didn't leak when I washed it two years ago. LOL Have a great one. Gene
