hei vacuum canisters...
i recently put an hei from a late 70s chevy in my 68 L79...i am in teh process of tuning it so teh advance like teh original distributer it replaced,, i read where the vac cans from teh points dist won't fit teh hei, but are teh weights and springs teh same? if so, will they keep teh centrifical advance as it was in teh original dist? then, all i will need is the right hei vac can, and it should have teh same specs as the original points dist...

None of the parts from the points distributor will interchange with the HEI. Even if they did, you cannot take the parts from one distributor, put them in another one, and get the same curve, even if the distributors are identical. You need to curve each distributor individually for what you want.
