Default quadrajet base plate

Is it possible to just get a new base plate?

My father has the carb setup nicely but the base leaks a little bit and needs fixing.

Thanks for any inputs.

As for my previous post for those who may have read ["frozen rotors"]. We have gotten the frozen rotors off (PB Spray and BFH as suggested) and rebuilt the emergency brakes with the SS kit from corvette America. It was also found that the sway bar was not attached to the trailing arms so I ordered all that hardware and installed it. We had to press the bushing in the linkage with a vise but things are progressing.

More work to come. Currently looking at Muskegon and VBP o-ring calipers.

I doubt that you can buy a new base plate. Someone out there does make a kit to rebush the throttle shafts. If you are interested in that email me at rwill10590@verizon.net and I will get the info for you. Good luck!

No.
There are no new parts available for Q-Jets. You need to repair what you have or find a good used plate off a carb with the same carb number.

OK I figured as much, thanks Lars. I have followed some of your q-jet posts on this forum.

So my number and information is below from a website. I am guessing I need the base plate to be of a carb number very similar?

704 2208 OC 2801

http://www.carburetion.com/quadnumber.htm

704 - 1970-1975
2 - produced in 72
2 - Quadrajet (4 bbl) Federal standards
0 - 0, 1, and 2 all indicate Chevrolet.
8 - Even is Auto although car is Manual
OC - production code
280 - production date
1 - probably 71
