Hi h4ca,
After using something like Simple Green I wipe the parts carefully with lacquer thinner before starting to paint.

Alan,

What a georgeous engine and bay. Did you do all the restoration yourself, or did you send it out?

I just got my '71 coupe out of the shed it's been stored in for over 21 years and had it shipped cross country to me. Haven't even determined just where to begin on the resto yet!!
