Default QuadraJet questions

it's an 84, but I figure I'd have alot better luck getting answers here than in C4 Tech.

First, let me say that I did not do the swap. The previous owner did it.

what is missing here? sorry for the quality.

There's a linkage that doesn't have anything connected.
Best I can figure is that it's the choke. Car seems to run ok as is, though.

the numbers point to it being a 1976 california carb... correct?

How does it behave in cold weather starts or is there such a thing where you live?

the complete choke coil is missing from the intake manifold along with all the connecting linkage to the carburetor.

Your going to love this, description of carburetor usage from www.carburetor-parts.com

Rochester Quadrajet rebuilt carburetor. Correct for 1986-87 Dodge 360. Carburetor number 17086425 Rebuilt in-house, using only quality American made parts.

The entire choke assembly (minus the choke flap) including the fast idle cam, choke pull off and linkage is missing. I wouldn't guess being in Galveston a choke would be all that big a deal though...

I'm just showing you what I found at a web site, try doing a search on the carburetor number see if you come up with something else. Unfortunately I just found a second site that says it's a Chrysler quadrajet

According to Cliff Ruggle's site, its a Chevy carb from a 1986 California car.
It was built on the 284th day of 1985.

Before I go and get all bent out of shape about this; what does that really mean to me? it runs fine, I'm using it for a dd, no intention of racing. It could be re jetted, not sure about the metering rods...

On that note, What does computer controlled mean for me?

I read it as 86 chevy as well.
That sure also shows it as a two jet, not quadrajet? Third from last digit is 4. Cali quadrajet would be 5.

A 76 would start with 1705.

again, not a chevy carb, try google

http://www.ebaycarburetors.com/servl...6,87,88/Detail

http://www.oldcarmanualproject.com/m...age060_jpg.htm

If the car runs fine dont worry about it you are just missing the choke and apparently have no problems due to the warm climate

what would be the downside of keeping the current setup?

None, if it runs fine that's the way it is.
Don't get too hung up about it.
It could do with a little carb cleaner but that's it.
