Wow you have some funky vacuum lines going on there.
From the way it looks your heat riser valve is closed all the time, are you having any fuel peculation issues ?
Also looks like the EGR is going to be open, unless one of those hoses is leaking.
Maybe your not finished , I see the fuel line isn't connected.

Red circle around the cruise control servo.

Order the assembly instruction manual (AIM) to go with your service manual. AIMs are handy.

Now for the Bonehead Question of the day: you do realize the fuel line is not connected to the carb?

Hi 98.
I counted 13 seperate pieces of hose.....this can only be a bad omen!Perhaps consider adding 1 or subtracting 1.
The GM Chassis Service Manual and AIM, as EM suggests, will be a big help!
Regards,
Alan

It looks like you have your valve covers on the wrong sides. If that is the dipstick by the brake booster, then the oil fill should be on that side too. Hopefully the holes for the PCV valve and the air cleaner connnection are the same size, so the valve covers can be swapped side for side. The General was kind enough to put the oil fill by the dipstick, so why not get it right?

I agree that the valve covers are reversed, all 68-82 small block Corvettes, have the oil fill in the left (drivers side) valve cover.

79 and earlier Corvettes had the dipstick on the left side, but starting in 1980, it was moved to the right (passenger side). The dipstick remained there from then on, while the oil fill stayed in the left valve cover.

The diameter of the holes for the breather and the PCV are the same.

Didn't know that about the oil fill and dipstick being on opposite sides of the engine in later years.

Thanks,
Pete
