Default Ncrs..ls1..1969 !!!!

Hi All,
I just opened the new edition of the NCRS magazine THE CORVETTE RESTOER. Summer 2011.
There's a 8 page article with 28 pictures entitled:
SQUEEZING AN LS1 INTO A 1969 CORVETTE.
Regards,
Alan

That's just more proof that all of us in the NCRS are jackasses!

Because NCRS is not **** about originality, contrary to what the local bashers around here would have you believe.

Listening to two NCRS guys rant about the "unfairness" and "lack of understanding" from non-NCRS folks to your own 'kind' is kinda like listening to Barack Obama and Nancy Pelosi bi+ch about the evil forces within the GOP.

The NCRS generally does a good job at what it intends to do. But not being ****, when it comes to the minutia of 'factory build detail accuracy', is not one of them.

As one who may appear as often as not to be at odds with what the NCRS stands for, my being a modder at heart, I would like to state for the record that I nevertheless view it as a vital asset, and for their purposes have no problem with them being "****" about details.

What gets under my skin are the Correctness ***** who believe that's the only proper way to enjoy this hobby.

That said, I'm a bit puzzled by the LS1 project...

Did not mean to stir up the crowd, I did not try to use **** in a bad way, just more of an understanding way. The NCRS certainly has a very meaningful and necessary purpose, don't get me wrong. I just thought that having a write up in their magazine, with a modification, just seemed a little strang to me.

Well, that's a sign of the times, isn't it? They are looking to drum up a few more sales, I'd wager. It shows that there is FAR more interest in resto modding, than just plain old restoring. Not knocking either, mind. Just pointing it out.

So long as the value of these cars is slashed due to economic issues, people that pick them up are going to be looking at them as more an investment in entertainment, than monetary value. And what's the best way to have fun in a vette? By going faster than you should.

I knew your question was honest curiosity but you can see the reaction that this post has stirred up from the bashers. They never miss an opportunity.

Here's a picture I took of a member's car at RM near Chatham ON during a national road tour. Can you see all us **** retentive purists spitting on it?

When I tire from the slamming of the "NCRS purists", I pop over to the for sale forum. Amazing how many non purists know original parts, (albeit costs), and all of a sudden love the purist

Clever. I suspect he can put the original trunk lid on in about 30 minutes.

Anyone who took my earlier post as any sort of bashing the NCRS missed my point entirely. That said, anyone who felt I stepped on their toes with my comment on intolerance probably had it coming.

Did they have hot tubs in the 1950s? Or was that a beer wagon? No ice machine visible. Don't recall either option and don't see them in the Black Book.
