have you made sure the headlight switch is not turned to the on position for the interior lights? Do you have separate switches for alarm and lights and are you checking the light switch?
Yes, Had my son help me push in both sides at the same time. Still no change. Lights stay on. The only way I can get them to go off is to disconnect the battery.
Hi Glenn,
Still the obvious... does your car have a 'door ajar' warning light? If it does you'll have four switches, the interior lights are the switches on the hinge pillar, not the lock pillar.
Regards,
Alan
This is very helpful information. Thank you so much. I actually thought the switches were just the opposite. I'll go back and check the hinge side switches to see if they are both working properly. They both move in and out freely so maybe a wire came disconnected.
Okay so I pulled out both switches on the hindge pillars and the one on the drivers side has a hot and neutral wire, 1-black &1- white, but the passenger side only has one neutral wire/white. Should there be two wires on both switches??

No your wires are right. The black on the drivers door side is for the key buzzer.
Grounding the white wires turns on your courtesy lights, so if one of those white wires is grounded the lights will stay on. For instance , if the white wire at the light in the cargo area is grounded the lights will come on. Happy hunting.
Did you try depressing the [newly found] correct switches to see if the lights go off? As someone else mentioned, there are some rubber 'bumpers' that stick on the mating part of the door and actually make contact with those switches. If one of the bumpers fell off, the lights would stay on.
ya know, I had the opposite problem with my interior light door switches where they wouldnt go on when the door opened. I moved the plunger on the switch in and out by hand and that didnt work. I had power to the switch. I took and rotated the plunger about 90 degrees and whala, it worked. Its been working ever since
