Default more power

I bought a '70 vette with a 327 and 4 speed several months ago. Its quick but not really impressive. Any tips or ideas on how to make it more of a screamer would be appreciated. I would like to keep the 327 but would consider going to a 350 if I had to. It has double hump heads and headers but that is not nearly enough. Thanks.

I have a 69 L46 350/350 matching #s, original, etc. that I bought around 7 months ago. Love the car but would like more power and better highway performance too. I came to the conclusion that since it is original, I shouldn't mess with it. I am enjoying the ride and next time will buy something that isn't original so I can modify it and not feel like I am losing value. If I were you and your car is already not very "original" then I would put a 383 in there and a 5 or 6 speed tranny so you can enjoy the highway cruise more. If your car is very original then your best bet is to sell it and buy a not so original car, possibly with a 383 already under the hood.

Hi 69VF,
As I remember the experience you had buying your car it's amazing (and to your credit) that you have been able to retain your SANITY as displayed in your reply!!!!
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Alan. Learned some lessons the hard way but definitely lost some of my sanity. Became friends with a couple of local guys down here that are on the forum (PalmBeachVette76 and Kaos) who provided me with therapy when I would start to lose it. They are both great guys that I now call my good friends. There is no doubt in my mind that without this forum and them I would have given up on living the dream of owning a classic.

If the OP's car is a 70 with a 327, then he doesn't have the original engine anyway.
