Does anyone know which shock is better and why, Monroe Sensa Track or KYB Gas A Just? Have a rebuild complete suspension and in area with bad road conditions, pot holes, bumps, cracks etc. For 1975 convertable. Anyone have any experience with both? Thanks.
I used Monroe Sensa Track on my 1986. They didn't last long. I don't drive the car alot so it spends more time sitting than miles on it. I am sure that there were maybe 1,000 miles on the shocks and I had to replace all of them.
I put the KYB's on last year. The car felt great with them on but I can't say how long they will last compared to others.
However, my 1976 Corvette has Monroes. They were on the car when I bought it. They are still good.

I'd say that the biggest variables are how you drive and what type of performance and feel you are looking for. Fill in those blanks and I bet you get some better responses.
I've had both Monroes and KYB on my 71 in the past. I realize Bilsteins are more money but the improvement in both ride and handling was dramatic. Easily worth the extra money IMO.
You definitely want gas shocks...not hydraulic (only) shocks, if you want a reasonably smooth ride. For the casual driver, Monroe gas shocks may do the trick. As mentioned, Bilstiens [heavy dutys] are the best for most C3's.
Are adjustables available?
I have Gaz shocks on a V12 jaguar which have a **** at the bottom with about 25 different "click" settings. Best shocks I've ever owned - firm them up for slalom fun, soften them for touring. I can reach them without jacking up the car. I searched their website and they dont list a solution for Chevrolet.
Koni has adjustable shocks but the ones I've seen have to be removed from the car for adjustment.??

What he said. I run Bilstein HD's on several cars. They're worth every penny.
