I will take that route as well. He and I go back many years to when he had a loaner Q-Jet program. One of my donor 1979 carbs was loaned out about 90 times.
Lars gave me a very gracious personal response for which I thank him.
Thoughts and prayers go out to Lars for speedy recovery. He and others on this forum like him, have made it possible for many of us rookie rebuilders to get the job done!
From: Las Vegas - Just stop perpetuating myths please.
I hope for lars a fast and full recovery. His contributions here are enormous, generous and genuine. And we all want the best of sympathies for him while dealing with his troubled health now.
I too had asked Lars for advice regarding a new Holley carburetor. He was forthwith his knowledge and in laymans terms. As I relate to Lars, I thought of the defination of 'sharing' and I define him as such.
Sharing: "The keeper of the knowledge who will unselfishly pass onto to someone to enjoy or benefit".
Knowledge is power, to keep secrets away from others is control. Lars did nothing of that and only provided solutions to make this forum better.
A couple of us Aussies had the pleasure of meeting and staying with Lars and his family at the end of the 50th anniversary celebrations. A gentleman, kind soul, and wicked drinker.
Our thoughts are with him for a fast recovery.

Lars, I'm just one more of your many fans and friends here. Best wishes for optimum end results for you. Hang in there and know that you have a ton of folks on your side.
Speedy recovery Lars, and many thanks for your papers and e-mails.
Truly an unselfish man, I miss his being on the forums, as I always read his posts, and learned something.
We should have a Lar's Fest when he's up to it, I'd be happy to host it this summer.
I am so sorry to hear of your temporary disablement and wish you all the best for a speedy recovery. I was in the States TWICE last year and did not ring you, sorry about that. My thoughts are with you and the girls.
Get well mate, and I hope to have a margarita with you later this year.
I've been chatting with him regularly over the past few months and I had no idea of his health issues... Rogman
It should go without saying that he be advised to read all of the positive wishes being posted here (as I believe he doesn't visit this forum any more).
