I would like to know if there is a serp system out there that will allow you to use a stock 73 water pump and mechanical fan. I would be able to switch to a serp system, but my racing class mandates i must keep the stock water pump and must have the mechanical fan. I can change out pulleys and brackets, but not the equipment. Oh yea, i must keep the stock power steering pump also. Any ideas?
Have you asked what they consider stock? Could be they mean no electric pump.
A serp belt system from a late 80's GM truck could work. The pump will look the same just be a little differant height and they use a mech fan.
My 89 camaro water pump came with a port for the heater core and the other heater core port came off of the intake manifold.
Yea some do and some don't.
All the reverse alum. ones I see don't have any as the F-Body's did not need them. I'm going to go by advance and see if the one they stock has it or not.

Stock means came from the factory on a car in my class. I can update and back date between the years in my class, so that is from 63-82. **Edit: Meant to say any Corvette from 63-82 with the low horsepower motors** Any equipment run in those years I can run. FYI I run class 2 C/D in NCCC autocrossing.
I do not have AC and the heater core is bypassed. All i need the belt to go around is the crank, water pump, alternator and power steering pump. I must keep the engine driven fan. I am allowed to run an electric fan in addition to the mech fan, but that really doesn't cool the car any better.

Damn, I fell for it! A resurrected old thread. We just had a discussion in another thread about this exact topic...
Don't worry about it.....in the next month someone else will be doing the "Serp-Swap".
Now......I'ma scroll down and see how old the "related thread" is.
Update: "no relations".

I decided NOT to go with the GMPP serpentine for my '69 due to someone at the local Chevy dealership writing in the parts catalog in big letters "will not fit under the stock corvette hood." I went with and '84 '89 combo setup. I still need to figure out an AIR pump delete.
It is the same set up used by several on here. It is the F body kit from 89-92
