Rod,
I would have to use family business to actually be able to charge anything to your account. If you should dispute charge Visa would require a reversal and I would be out. I know thats not what will happen, it's just what could happen. If paypal changes my account we will be ready and if they don't I'll open a new one. I appreciate your trusting me with your card number though. If I hadn't been burnt a few times on other "trust" matters I would just ship it. I have to learn from my mistakes. I hope you never get burned but in reality, it could be me that burns you. You just never know. I know; I would never burn you; but you don't know me.
Anyway.......hang tight.......I'll get you fixed up one way or another.
Pics are not a bad idea. A newspaper next to tool would date it. This is sad that we can't just trust each other. I know if we were all hanging around a shop somewhere and could see and talk to each other, the trust issue would be much less an issue; at least with me. Many of you will send out your tools no questions asked. That's good. We are all different as our opinions reflect. This soap box is hurting my feet so I'll get off now.
We have been practicing this loaner program on the Turbo Diesel Registry for some time. Especially with this tool that cost about $300. We have like 5 or 6 of these tools, each one is regional. There is a person responsible for each tool and they keep up where it is and coordinate where it is going next. The tool gets shipped from one person to the next, no need for paying shipping and exchanging money etc. you just mail it to the next person and so does that person. Simple system, it works
Won't you be needing set up tool and axle installation tool as well?
Look up cost of tools you need, add approx shipping and Paypal me at account jimvette999@yahoo.com . When I recieve notification from Paypal I will ship tools you want. Email me please and indicate if ths is what you want to do.
Also you will need micrometer and dial indicator. These two items I can't loan since damage may not be visible.
Paypal never responded to my questions. I'm will to eat the 3% cost since I told you I would loan you the tool. I'll find a better solution for the "next" time.
Thanks,

Taz,
Who actually owns the tool. And what happens when the person who owns it needs it back (or needs to send it out). Seems like at some poing they would get stuck with paying for shipping on a tool that they already own.
Jim, i just need the Spindle press tool. i have all the rest!!! so with that said, finds out for me the shipping charges from you to me. i will add that amount to the total to be paid through paypal.......Tool+shipping=??...right?

Well this is a tool you use once, or not very much at all (like a rear spindle press).
As to who owns it, I think everyone went in together to pay for it, this particular one I'm talking about cost like $300 to make (custom tool for fixing the "killer dowel pin" in the gen II Cummins diesels).
And what usually tries to happen, is a bunch of people in one area gets together and everyone uses the tool in one day. So to get the most use out of it on one stop.
"Paying for shipping on a tool they already own"?? what do you mean?

Ok. Different scenario than what you were saying. If I own a muffler bearing removal tool and you want to borrow it, I pay to send it you you. Then Bubba wants to borrow it, you pay to send it to him, and so on, so everyone that uses it pays for the shipping to send it to the next guy. If shipping is $10, then everyone pays equally, except the person that owns it. He has the cost of the tool PLUS the $10 shipping to kick the program off and send it to the first person. Make sense?

Ok, now I get it. Issue never has came up, didn't really matter about who picks up the tab for the first shipping cost... I mean I'll give someone $10 to help a fellow enthusiast out, Vette, Truck, or bicycle (my three hobbies)
Tool cost + shipping cost is right. When I get tool back, I'll check it and if all is well, I'll in turn Paypal your account cost of tool. You should end up out only the cost of shipping in both directions. I'm sorry this is taking so long. I'm surprised Paypal was not more responsive to my info. request. We lost a week dickin' with them. Monday I will weigh tool, get you shipping cost and email you.
I tried to get Paypal to change the status of my account back to the basic account. I had asked for the ability to accept Visa though Paypal which is how I ended up with the premier account. Now they charge me to receive funds.
Receive Funds costs 0.7% + 30¢ to 2.9% + 30¢*
*There is an additional 1% fee for receiving payments from a user in another country. This fee is currently waived for Canadian sellers receiving payments from U.S. buyers.
I think they are going to tack on another 1% because Rod is in Canada when he pays me but they will not charge me again when I send his money back to him. It should cost me no more than 4% of whatever Rod sends. Approx. $7 max assuming shipping is $16.
That's cool. It's for a good cause.........................cause Rod needs it.
Thank you Mr. Moderator, sorry for delay in response.
Ps: did oyu know that it only cost $20.55 CDN to send the part back. while its cost $24 to $25 USD to send it to me??? 25 US is $41.25 CDN. double  get it from you to me!!!!!
