Thanks for all the good info. Dyno results, a mild quarrel, and even a visit from Lars! I think I will forgo the headers for a bit. I am not trying to squeeze everything I can from the car yet. I am still deciding how much to put into this car before finding a 4-speed. If I do keep this car I will put long headers on when I replace the transmission. Even with the 3.07 gears the TH350 keeps the RPMs at 2500-3000 on the highway.

I am going to have the interior apart again soon for gauges and duct work. I will just plan on insulation and new carpet while it is apart this time.

Thanks,
Mike

Headers are one of my all time favorite mods. You can't lose with them hardly. You gain torque everywhere, and even get better gas mileage. But the reduced ground clearance and occasional exhaust leak can be a downer.

Get the right headers and you don't give up much ground clearance. There are even a few suspension components that sit lower to the ground.
