Avoiding Crossfire
On an HEI ignition in a 77 L48 which plug wires should NOT be run next to or adjoining to prevent crossfire?
The aim shows #2 and #3 routed around front of distributor.
What is a good way to route wires with only lower shields still on car

I'm using Taylor Spiro-pro and have had problems with radio noise and a "miss"
by running the #2 wires in front of the distributor I eliminated the radio noise but the "miss" still is there.
I've replaced the cap and rotor and all plugs (.045 gap)
wires are about 6 years old and have low mileage(15,000 miles)

do a continuity check on the wires , then do a resistance check, and while you're doing the checks, shake the wires to simulate engine vibration.

If they are 'rubber' wires, rubber deteriorates with time and heat. Put your car in a darkened garage at night, lift the hood and fire it up. You should be able to see any high-voltage leakages from those wires, if there are any. If so, change them to something that is good quality and won't break down so quickly.

Corrected Cap
I use an ACCEL corrected cap. It allows you to rout the wires on the proper side without any crossing or touching. It also looks great.
Combine that with a decent set of 'cut to lengh' wires and a cheepee wire loom kit and your problem is solved for about $150.00
Find the cap here:

A long time ago, it was all about keeping wires apart. Look at racing engines today - heck, they zip-tie them together
