Default Bubba under the left side dash-pics requested

Under the left side dash, I can identify the manual vacuum switch for the headlights. Not sure about anything else. If you have pics of this area, then that would aid my understanding-extremely helpful. 69 coupe, 4 speed, 350/350.

Here's what I have and my questions:

1. What is the part that resembles a condensor? (somewhat obscured by manual switch for hl)
2. 4 holes in the metal support, the far right hole is a switch for...?
3. Assume the first hole (largest) is oriented in same plane as other three, correct?

Thanks, yes helpful! In the lower lh corner of you pic, I see part of the **** for the trip reset. Can you take one more pic that includes the entire ****?

Any ideas about what the other holes in the metal support piece are for?

I'll see what I have but it looks for all the world like a black plastic tire valve cap.

As far as I know the other holes are just remnants of previous models or something. I've never come across anything that goes there.

Hi b
Here are a couple of pictures from my 71.
Perhaps they'll show something thatMooser's pictures don't.
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Always rely on Alan for excellent series of photo's

Any idea of what the other two holes were for? My guess was that the brackets were left over from pre-68 and they used to serve some function?

For 69, beneath the dash are the head light vacuum override, wiper door vacuum override, wiper override switch (the only electrical part in the group), trip reset cable. Courtesy lamp bracket is also in the OP's pic.

AIM shows all of it.

Alan, Mike, and Mooser--really appreciate the pics, thank you for forwarding them. More questions...

Alan, the first picture shows two override switches-are these for the L and R headlamp asm? I dont have have a plastic bracket to support the switches. Is this supported by the two bolts on the steering column? The series of pics really cleared up what it is supposed to be.

Mike-I looked through the AIM, would you send the page number? - handwritten diagrams are not as clear as the pics

Thanks for helping me out

Mike calls them out in proper order
One is the headlamp doors (both), the other is for the wiper door
The turn **** in the middle is the electric to turn the wiper motor off (allows you to turn them off in middle of the windshield to change blades etc.

The metal bracket (check used parts section or ebay) and you can understand how it mounts to the dash once you see what it looks like, two "ears" go out to the sides screws there

Got it--I now see why the two manual vacuum switches are dangling--missing support bracket. Found this on ebay...

Can now work to correct and then go about figuring how to restore electrical override switch. Believe Bubba clipped it off..

Thanks again

The bracket is your first pic may be correct. The bracket in the eBay listing might be 68 only.

AIM pages are: UPC 1 E2, UPC 12 B4, B5, and B11.

I agree one of your vacuum switches looks like it is broken.

Mike-thank you-the AIM pages illustrate, as Paul Harvey used to say, the rest of the story. The pages listed above are extremely helpful. Got it!
