Default Name those relays

Looking for some help on my 71 LS-5 4 speed coupe. These relays are mounted on the drivers side of the firewall by the power brake booster. I believe one is the TCS relay, but what is the other?

Also, any good sources to buy these relays? The Corvette shops want $50 for the TCS relay, but I can't find it on NAPA online (where prices are usually less than half those at the specialty shops).

Just stumbled across that thread myself. Thanks for the link.

Now the question is can I find a replacement relay (or pair of relays) somewhere for a reasonable price.

Edit - and now I'm wondering about possibly eliminating the system entirely. I've heavily modified the engine so originality is out the window. Perhaps deleting this system would help clean up the engine compartment?

Up to you.... You may want to hold onto those parts, as they could be repairable or rebuilt. They are hard to find, in any condition.

Your engine is not original, and if you're really not using them, then they serve no purpose. I would pull them out, put them in a bag and store them with other items you already removed.

Hi MV,
The 71 model year cars had a system called the Combined Emission Control system. CEC
The hardware in the system is:
The solenoid mounted to the left front of the carburetor.
The temperature sensor in right side cylinder head.
A sensor in the transmission that signals when the transmission is in 3rd and 4th gears.
The reversing relay... the front one in your picture.
The delay relay... the rear one in your picture.
When it's all working it's a pretty neat system.... kinda acts like a computer before their time.
Regards,
Alan

It could certainly all be removed and sold or saved. I'd buy the 2 relays on the firewall.
