Hi s76,
Mel is right.
The question in my mind is was the hood intended (molded) to fit the 71, or did it just end up on the 71?
Knowing what year it was made for, and if it's been modified, may help in knowing whether it'll fit your car.
Regards,
Alan
Thanks guys. The seller said it was on his 71 and was getting rid of it because it has holes for hood pins in it. He said since it went all the way to the windshield with no wiper door, it will fit any vette from 68 to 82. Anyways didnt think it would fit but came here to ask all of you guys.
Hi S76,
Will Fit. Well yes, more or less.
It's the curve that Mel mentioned that becomes the trouble. The rear upper lip of each fender is different on cars with wiper doors than those later cars without the wiper door.
So the hood needs to be made to fit the fenders, or the fenders needs to be made to fit the hood.
The hood STILL might fit your 76... it depends what it is.
Regards,
Alan
I think I am going to pass. I Really didnt need it, but he only wanted $50 for it. I was going to install my L88 scoop on it instead of on the original hood I have.
76 is a one year only hood, you can use a 73-75 with cold air induction if you don't mind the bid hole in it, I did after I could not find a 76 hood, no problem after putting the insulation on the hood.
