Default Stingray fender script

Not sure where this question is supposed to go, but here it is.... Does anyone know whose handwriting the stingray fender script was modeled after?

The General....General Motors, that is. All of the logos, graphics and scripts are produced by the art department. As such, all of them are trade marked and have copyright protection. If it was 'copied' after someone else's handwriting, that person could claim that he/she was the "author" of that script. No way the General would allow that!

My first guess would have been the C3 General section NOT Tech/Performance.

I read somewhere that it was a style evolved through the Design Studio and was not based on actual handwriting. These days it would be CAD and done on a computer. Those days, renderings were done on paper.

Speed nuts on the backside of scripts with molded-in studs for earlier C3's; tape on later versions.

Hmmm. I think speed nuts were on some (very early?) C3's but not all. I don't have my NCRS judging manual with me but have high confidence that by 1970 or so, the speed nuts were dropped. I could be wrong? Hopefully, someone else can confirm/correct me here and/or can provide timing for the speed nut elimination engineering change. My '72 has studs and tape - no speed nuts - per the NCRS Judging Guide.

Hi,
I'm thinking the same thing as rr72.
I took a look at the 68-69 and 70-72 NCRS Tech Manual and the info indicates that speed nuts weren't typically seen on the scripts' studs in those years.
I can vouch for none on my 71.
Regards,
Alan
