Me too I'm glad you're still moving on this vette. I thought painting it might push you over the edge and have you walk away. Kind of the same reason why I advised leaving the trans for another day.
My advise now is shoot a simple color like white or black and enjoy the summer. This winter, you'll see all the little mistakes and you'll have a few more dollars to get closer to your vision. The bonus is you'll have a smile all this summer and fall

The video will probably be around August, I need to put another 400 miles on it and not sure how long that will take. Hahaha maybe just a long weekend drive..

Melting Slicks
She finally got her date!!!! We had so much fun and the car ran great!!! Ugh gotta get the AC now though, wow it was hot! Hahahaha maybe it won't be to hard to install!
I am leaving the paint for now and will do a little color sanding when I get bored and the polish it out a little more.
of course I still need to do a few things but we can at least drive!

Rocker panels on since the picture, put heat barrier in the floors last week and start hanging the AC system (finally got all the parts in) this weekend.
Should be able to try burnout in the next week or so!!!
Hope you all are doing well!
I feel like I should be getting more power than I am though, I couldn't screech the tire at a stop light if I wanted to. Ask me how I know!

Safety Car
You should of given me a call! I was around
Have you tried timing your car by ear? You mark the base of the distributor. Turn it counter clockwise and keep moving it in 2 or 3 degree+ ... Each time you take the car for a test drive until it get hot and romp on it. If it doesn't ping, move it up another degree or 2 and do it again. Keep doing it until it pings or looses power! Then back off until it stops pinging.
Every engine has its sweet spot for timing and carb adjustments. Your butt dyno is the cheapest way to find it

I have not tried that, I guess the question is how do you know if it is timing or carb?

Oh!!!!! The 78 is gone gang sorry I never got a burnout video but I got really busy and didn't get to film one or even do one. With that being said I sold the 78 and bought a 73 barn find!!!!
