With just a little work on them they flow really nice. I've got a set on mine. I've gone through a couple of different cams and intakes on them. Finally settled on a Victor Jr. Intake with a 1 1/4" spacer (Wilson nitrous plate) and a Bullet cam. I'm pretty happy with the performance.
The car is wicked fast if you need it to be. I have no idea as to HP numbers for it, but have been 140+ on occasion at the track. Now granted that is with the help of a small shot.

Nice info, yeah I was talking to Dad the other day saying the vette doesn't need to be any faster really, it's got just enough power for the chassis, any more and it'd be a bit scary I think without a rollcage to stiffen it up.
Thanks, that pice was from Drag Week 2009 at Summit Motorsports Park in Norwalk.
No more cage in mine. The 8 point is cut out and in pieces in the floor. Totally new interrior and can't even tell it was ever there. It was kind of a waste since it was only in for a couple years. Door bars for even less time. Turning it into just a nice but quick street car. I accomplished what I set out to do with it. No more obstruction inside with the bars! Even with swing out door bars it was still a pain in the a$$.
Leaving the engine as is. I can go plenty fast enough on motor alone to get kicked out of any track at will. Nitrous is staying on as well more so as a carb spacer than else and to play with all the kids around here with their blue oval Mustythangs!!!
Here is the power plant in the '81.
And if I feel the need for speed, I play with these!
X275 Drag Radial. 565 BBC on one BIG kit. Probably close to 600 on the spray. Steve Schmidt built piece.
'69 Bickel built Camaro ProMod. 540 Musi BBC with twin 88's.
Best to date on the ProMod.

265RWHP since I have no idea what the motor is. It's not that easy to 300RWHP out of a street driven 350ci engine
"horses-behind" however it completely escapes me why? it seems so hard to get 300rwhp on the street? w/no NOS either. I don't do this for a living. My 1st 5-6 SBC's were uderwhelming......to say the least in the late 70's early 80's. Well I found out for> ME that my main problem was the hear this read that thing? And then my 2nd problem was mismatching parts....under/over-cammed/wrong compression/too big of a carb/wrong heads...etc. Well w/comparitivily inexpensive, WELL matched components and a few little tricks here and there and I found my last 7-12 SBC's 350-355cid's easily gave me 300 + at the drives...and no big rumpity cam either or compression so high you had to run 110 in it on the street. It just seems too easy now, especially w/the tech we have available Now at a realitively young age [55] MS is slowly crippling me so I have 2 left and all the components matched and all assembled. So my building days are over. I took my time on these last 2, #1 is a 355cid SB going in my 82 Vette and #2 is a 231cid 0.30=235cid V-6 Turbocharged/Aftercooled Buick [had that one down 3 times] And nope I won't get 300+rwhp on this last SBC...why? I'm staying w/the stock albeit HEAVLY ported crossfire intake-I'm not delusional. Besides I already know the flywheel hp on both, at the drives the 355cid will be 270-278rwhp [using a 25% reduction from flywheel to drives] with the STOCK intake on it. race-on.....and good luck!

Nice machine! My buddy has a 959 Musi motor with Musi twin TBs with four kits. STUPID amounts of HP out of that motor. Somewhere in the 4000-4500hp range. GL with yours.
