Taillight Trouble

Hey Guys,
I'm having trouble with the left tailight on my 76.
When I hit the brakes the left light is dimmer than the right, and when the lights are on the taillight goes out when I hit the brakes(no brake light either).
It's not the bulb and the socket looks okay, Anyone have an idea where to start looking?

I would have to bet that you have a GROUND problem in that socket. I have encountered this same issue and it has ALWAYS been a ground issue

What DUB said, you have no ground on that socket.

You guys were right. the ground plug going into the socket was broken off. I jammed it in farther and the light came on. Should be an easy fix.
