Restoring a 72 roadster, want to know if they made a special shim for the grille between the hood and the wiper door and if so, where can I get them. I know in the past I have used small plastic washers to get the right height but this is going to be a point car and it must be correct.

Hi df,
I don't think there was a specific 'shim' used at this location.
The 71 I'm the original owner of had/has 3 regular flat washers used as shims.
I placed the washers in a position so that they're not readily seen.

You should check with NCRS or refer to judging manual to see if there is an acceptable 'spacer' that the factory used. I made some shims from polymer clay [baked to make permanent] so that the grille is even all the way across.
