Some good finds.
You always hear about it but I never thought I would ever see one let alone get one or better yet, my wife found it and bought it without me....
Happy camper?

The marks on the car are just needles off the trees. It's immaculate except for the 45 year old seat foam which is turning to sand. I have been doing all fluids and going through this thing and my wife asked when she can drive it....? She took it out today and I can't get her out of it. She is seventeen years younger than I am and she asked me:
"They really built cars like this? Oh my.... Why didn't you tell me about that? I think there are still three guys and a girl following me up the street and they aren't together."
"Oh, this is, can we take the back window out like you said? So I can hear?"
Seems a 427 can do that....
The black Z06 in the pic is hers but I doubt you could get her out of that 69 if you had a crane and some extra help.

Now keep it well maintained for her and get periodic permission to test drive it

I have 68 identical to her new find.
You'd think they just saw Rick James ghost by the way they look at me in the vette.
They are truly the ones everybody wished they had.
Something about the 68-69 shark gills that define these cars.
A 427 is just icing on the bun.
And a 4spd is a prerequisite when ordered.
Enjoy it! It is truly one of those 1 in a life time opportunities that will never repeat itself.
You both were very fortunate right time right place
Marshal
That looks like quite a nice 69.
They really ARE very special cars as your wife discovered.
It's an interesting tale too!
I hope YOU get to drive it on occasion!
Good Luck.
Regards,
Alan

The right side of the car. My wife tells me it's my side....

That isn't cleaned up. The car boys, the car.... It's in the driveway where she found it. It had the original owners manual in the dash pouch, the original Oregon plates in the back from new, the last service sticker still on the door from Jerry's Milwaukie Mobile Inc. in Milwaukie Oregon dated May 5th 1994.
The original A.I.R. pump is still on it. Everybody threw those things away. It's a pretty nice old car and I don't plan on doing any kind of restoration on it. I would like to keep it real. I dropped the spare tire tub and the original is still in there with stickers and air in it. Don't know if the build sheet is on top of the tank and don't plan on looking or finding out. I imagine it is but just want to enjoy it the way it was made and keep it that way. Not even any clear coat on the paint. Just daytona yellow.
My wife was up at 6:30 this morning asking me if I could show her how to take the back window out.
I haven't seen or heard from either since.... Onstar?
Can anyone run an old blue and yellow Oregon plate for me?

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

sounds like a very complete and original car. I paid 33 for it...
Canadian money though...

It's a 390/427 late build and the heater hoses had been changed to Prestone "quick flush" (red...) and both that and the plug wires will be changed back to original... Other than that, it runs pretty good. When I got it, it sounded like a can of marbles but found the initial timing was set at 27 degrees advance. Factory says 4 so I used 14 and it seems to run very nice like that.
Found the VIN in the Registry.

Finding out the history on some of these old things is just as important as the car. Can you imagine if someone called you about a car you or your Dad had 45 years ago and it still looked the same, ran the same, and nobody had played with it? That is why I wouldn't restore it. It's original and should stay that way. It's not an example of what things should look like. It's an example of what it does and did look like and nuts and bolts from Corvette Central are not going to make it any better.
I am going to do the seats because of the rotting foam and probably carpets but other than that, it doesn't really need anything. It's just a nice example of an old car and I would like to keep it (and drive it) like that. Why restore something when it doesn't need it and will cost you a fortune that you will never get back. To me, "nut and bolt" is when it actually needs a nut or a bolt. Finding something like this really special to me. It isn't restored by someone else. It's just an old car that deserves to be driven and taken care of.
My original 1969 427 was my only car in 1970 and as a fledgling airline pilot in Winnipeg Canada, it was my only drive. Summer and winter. I drove that car to work at 40 below and it never failed me.
Snow tires front and back...
The old Oregon plates in the box with the rest of the stuff are dark blue with yellow lettering and are labeled BHA994.
By the way, thanks again for providing the info for the original owner. I am trying to track him down right now. My wife finally got home. She had a smile on her face and smelled of "old car". Ah geeze....

Update: email sent to Ken Fisher and waiting for a reply.

"No, sorry, good luck with your search."
The link you posted in the C3 Registry is the car though. Am pretty happy to find it no matter what the story is but am unable to locate him sofar.
My wife thinks there might be something wrong with me. Not sure what it might be. I mean, the old 78 in the corner is hers....
