Maurice, this post title cracks me up... I thought I put 2 and 2 together....knowing that you just bought a new mega-set of Craftsman tools last night.....plus the title of this post....I had envisioned your Vettes all taken apart and in baskets already.....
I didn't expect so many repies so fast. I thought this place was a ghost town on Saturdays. I thought more folks had undriveable cars, but good to see it is a low number.
QuickVet - What rearend/trans/TQ converter do you have in that guy? I was running almost that fast and I dyno'd 285hp/305rwtq. I had a TH350/2500 stall and a 4.56. My best time was 13.08 at 106
I used the 100 miles as a reference because it is about how far it is to drive around our island :D
Norris - Nothing is in boxes yet I didn't even think about the tools relating to this topic. Fitting though, give me a couple of weeks
Mine runs like a bat out of you know where...but it's kinda hard to steer with the front suspension torn apart.
John
-EDIT- Oh by the way...about the 100 mile thing......Yes I would trust it to go to California and Back (if I had any reason to go to Califorina   )
I can drive my car 100's of miles at a time without giving it a second thought. The only thing is, I'd like to be able to cover the first 1/4mi. in less than 14 seconds. Oh well. Someday I'll have the best of both worlds.
Car runs a little hot for my taste and even though my clutch still sucks I have been driving it as much as possible. Since my trans speddo gear is stripped, I treat it like a jet and log hours not miles: about 5 hours of cockpit time. :yesnod:
I could drive it all over the place once I drop it off the jackstands. :D
AC
 Mine is very close to being a driver, and the engine runs nice and smooth, I just don't want to risk the power steering freaking out and pulling me off the road. Maybe tomorrow.
I just put over 600 miles on mine Saturday tooling around on Highway 101 (on the Oregon coast), from Portland to Coos Bay and back - a beautiful twelve hours.
Took some nice pics of the Vette also.
I will have to make a new sig soon.
