any thoughts on the LS7 manifolds? I'd have to guess there are a lot of them out there cheap. There are a couple of threads on this in the forum!

The LS7 manifolds have a very unique bolt pattern on the outlet side. It is very oblong, nowhere near round. Something could be fabricated but it is not a bolt on exhaust at all.

No, I put more than that in both my 6.0 and 5.3 swaps. I think I got a pretty good handle on costs involved.
Not sure how they would run on an LS6, but they seem to support 400hp as well as tube headers. That's pretty much perfect for my motor.
I don't know the specs on his motor, but likely the tube headers will do better with more mods.
Just throwing it out there because they flow well, are cost effective, but mostly because they fit great and will clear a Z bar.

First its a Camaro Craft article, I wouldn't trust them to be the most accurate.

Secondly the article deals with a relatively stock LS1 motor not even a LS6 variant, if a LS6 had been used I think results would have differed greatly.

Thirdly Gordon and a few others like myself have LS3 motors, they ARENT LS1/6 motors, they REV higher, have BIGGER CAMS and way different cylinder heads.

My LS3 was a 4K mile virgin but, I have re-cammed it, done some head work, and intend to run it to 7000RPM just like my C6 Z06 does. I want a set of 1.875 headers for my build even if I have to do this myself. I have a few projects to get out of the way first then back on my 72 LT-1 swap to LS3 power. Dan Popp said his 72 LT-1 went 11.8's at Holleys LS Fest this year, I hope to better my C6 Z06 best of 11.89@122MPH in my 72 when the build is done.

Guys by mid week we'll have photos of our new LS Swap headers for the C3. We went ahead and prototyped a set and they are awesome. We'll start a new thread with photos. Thanks.

Well that is annoying because I called last week to ask about doing any and the person I spoke with said you didn't have anything in the works (other than the standard C3 headers) and that I would have to pay a restocking fee to try any of the other headers if they didn't work.

I think if you develop a GOOD fitting header for this swap, you'll certainly be able to sell them. Just not sure what the breakeven point would be for you.

Anyway, I am going custom stainless now. Nothing will fit like a custom built header so that is the route I think will be best.

Put me first in line for these. I hope they fit and don't drag the ground. You guys do very nice work on your headers so I would expect nothing but the best. Looking forward to it.

AR does great work - they fabricated the exhaust on my 70 after I gave up on the Pypes set up. Haven't taken any pics yet though. Next time its up on the Kwik lift

Don't know yet. Waiting to hear. If. You want me to be the test fitter I am ordering a set as soon as they are available. I'll be happy to post up pictures and any comments. I am hoping they took into account for Steeroids systems.

I know it has only been a few days but I am in need of these ASAP. The shorties I bought don't fit, so I don't want to spend any more on temporary headers.

I know where there are a set of brand new crate ls3 pull offs that you could probably have pretty cheap. Shipping might be a bit much due to weight though.

Not for an LS swapped C3 - or at least not advertised.

Guys I apologize for not getting the photo's up. My web designer is working on finishing our 2014 Catalog in time for PRI and I've been helping him the last few days. We'll have the photo's up tomorrow and my salesman Steve will start a new post. The headers are available with 1-3/4 or 1-7/8" primaries with 3" merge collectors. Ground clearance and tube routing is as good as it gets. Of course the headers are 304 S/S and 100% US made. We can begin taking orders on Monday. Thanks.

Nick,

Will the stock clutch Z-bar clear these headers and will they have O2 sensor bungs? If so, put me down for a set. I'm across the Sound in Fairfield, CT. I, too, have the Melrose and am sick of them.

Thanks,
Carl

I suspect a number of people appreciate your pioneering effort. Will be watching how this works out and waiting for the pix. Good luck.
