An original 71 coil would vary based on engine installed. The numbers are embossed (or raised) in the coil, not printed.

287 B-R, LS-5

Is there a way to "test" the coil and condenser? Matching these up to a newly Lars rebuilt distributor and Qjet...removing HEI. Thanks for replies everyone...
That condenser is "toast". There is no way an 'original' condenser is still good. BUT, it is only there to eliminate noise from your car's radio output. If that's not an issue, your best choice would be to pull the lead completely out of the condenser, trim back the end that you pulled out so there is no wire protruding, clean up the coil, condenser body and bracket, glue the [trimmed] lead back into the body of the condenser, then stick it all back on the car. You will have the original bracket and original (noise suppression) condenser lookin' good.
If the coil is still good and it has the correct coil resistances for your ignition, just repaint it semi-gloss black and stick it in there, too.

Cleaned as suggested. Still suggest flat black? Should I look for replacement condenser? NAPA? Radio works with no interference...not factory per PO.
Hi tw,
I think the original coils were quite shiny.
Certainly not flat and maybe a bit more gloss than semi-gloss.
Regards,
Alan
Don't lose the screws for the condenser and bracket (didn't see them in the latest picture)... they're nice to have. Unusual head on the condenser screw, and self tapping tip cut into the bracket screw.
