I would use a dead blow or soft hammer and swat the crank both front and rear. Then re-check your thrust end play measurements. The builder might not have done that. If the thrust bearing is not fully seated the end play will be off. IF he already did and it's tight it might be worth a closer look. If he did and it seats the thrust, then you're ahead. Nothing ventured nothing gained- and you'll know for sure.

Before you do anything give it a good whack front to rear and rear to front with a soft blow hammer and check it again. I have a lead 2# hammer that works well. A block of wood and a regular #2 hammer will work. Bet your good. Better off at the low end than the high end.
