I was reviewing the AIM I noticed the birdcage top shows two different clip part numbers for the(top) windshield trim. The clips look the same in the AIM pictures, can anyone shed some light on this?
Speaking only in general, two different part numbers for the same part shown in the AIM usually means the two parts are different OR the parts are the same but have different manufacturers. Two part numbers for two providers for the same part pops up in the 80-82 AIMs more frequently than in the earlier model years.
Try Googling the two part numbers and see if they turn up two different descriptions.
Hi Kevin,
The parts book describes the 3936399 clip as: clip, outer, and the 3913937 clip as: clip, inner.
What the difference is I don't know. When I took mine off I bagged them as to their location, but never noticed a difference in the clips.
The vendors seem to offer just one clip for use with that piece of trim.
So???
Regards,
Alan
