Default Stainless headers/side pipes C3

Trying to find a stainless steel header and side pipe set up for my 73 small block. XS power looked good, but this kit not available right now. Any opinions out there? Stahl is closing their doors. Thanks guys.

Here's where I got mine, still available on e bay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OBX-Side-Mount-Pipe-Headers-63-82-Corvette-C2-C3-SBC-Header-/181328872803?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&fits=Model%3ACorvette&hash=item2a380b0563&vxp=mtrMine fit good, I heard others had problems. Get the ones without inserts and put the ones you want in. The ones with inserts are welded in and are hard to get out if you don't like them.

Looks like a good bang for the buck there, but his system is on back order.

My obx headers/sidepipes fit just fine.......just watch out, the obx stainless steel can rust on you and their customer service is non-existent. The company I purchased mine from wont stand behind the product they sale.

Others had good luck with them not rusting though.

I have Hedman sidepipe headers on my 68 ZZ4 Corvette. I have the factory 69 sidepipe exhaust on the 68.

The Hedman sidepipe headers are cheap ($179??), ok good for that, but even after having them Jet Plasma Coated, they are rusting in the very benign atmosphere of So California.

How to get ignored by a custom header business..ask them to duplicate the Hedman Headers in stainless steel. I've sent off two, probably three, invitations for quotes and no responses. Seems like an easy job...Just copy someone else's headers in stainless.

Didn't notice you had the other ss headers/sidepipes thread too. Most guys seem to have good luck with theirs. I knew stuff was hit and miss with obx's quality going into it. I wasnt aware of rust issues until I had mine. I've been tempted to take my chances on another set and selling my current rusting pipes. Mine buff out nice, but rust comes back weeks later.

You could buy Hooker steel headers and pipes and send them straight to Jet-Hot for ceramic coating inside and out. Jet-Hot has a lifetime warranty (for coating new/ unused pipes), so if you ever have a problem with the coating, send them back and they will coat them again for free, no questions asked. I have Hedman headers with Jet-Hot's sterling coating.

Both companies state they use 304 Stainless Steel. I see that hurons site claims they are 321SS. XS power's site claims they use 304SS for most of their pipes they don't say specifically for the SB pipes. They do say 321SS for the BB pipes. From what I can find XS doesn't exactly state what the wall thickness of the sidemount headers are. XS only says "some as thick as 2.7mm" which isn't clear at all. I didn't see that OBX's site states anywhere the thickness of their pipes. Racingpartsdepot say the obx pipes are 1.5mm. Hard to say definitively the exact specs for either company.
