The large casting right above the steering column mount has some rust on it and I hate to cover it up with the interior install, can someone tell me how hard it is to get out one the steering column is out?
I can't even see all the screws, doesn't look to easy?
Hi Kevin,
Once the steering column is out getting the cast 'bracket' out isn't too bad.
It's held in place with 2 bolts. The bolts tighten into 2 nuts that are welded to the bottom of the windshield frame.
BUT, before you can remove those 2 bolts you need to remove the steering column 'support' that mounts to the 'bracket' with 4 bolts.
I'm not sure how much of this can be done with the brake/clutch pedal in place though. I THINK they need to be out to remove the 'support' and then the 'bracket'.
So ?
Regards,
Alan
