I need a new AC hose. I am considering using R134 instead of R12. I have heard conflicting reports on R134.

I would like to hear from Vette owners that have converted

Don't believe the nay-sayers. R134a works just fine. I have 2 converted cars (vette & caddy) and both are cool.

Mine works great.. Stock 69 system. I did replace the drier with a new one compatible with R!34a. You need to use ESTER oil (not PAG). You have to be carful not to overcharge the system. Overcharging is very common and the main reason people are not happy with R134a. R134a does tend to leak a littl easier. I've done several cars with no problems.

R134a works fine, the trick is to find the "sweet" spot of the charge. To much or to little and you won't see the coolest vent temp. Good Luck
