After removing paint with a razor blade, a dark gray material remains. Is this the primer or fiberglass?
Also, what is the best filler for blemishes in the fiberglass?
Thanks.
Hi Ray,
One of the original primers was dark gray. It's very difficult to remove.
Many people use sand paper to remove it.
It depends on what the 'blemishes' are as to what is best to use on them.
Are they small 'divots', cracks, exposed glass fibers?
Regards,
Alan
As for a filler to fill in blemishes...it all depends on the severity of the blemish. But if it were me...I would use nothing but Vette Panel Adhesive/Filler from Evercoat.
But...the dark grey primer/sealer...if that is what it is will need to be thoroughly removed BEFORE you apply the VPA.
