i think you mean ZL1 not ZR1, you would need to contact VBP for that information.
i can tell you i put the 550# springs on the front and 360 # composite rear spring with QA1 shocks and there isn't a big difference it is a huge difference. but i must say one of my old springs was broken in two, and i didn't know it until we took them out.i'm sure that is a factor.
VBP will get you all the information you will need. they are good at what they do.
Are they equivalent to ZR1 coils? Is it true that springs need to be HD with HD to make a handling difference?
You should not mix different kinds of springs, like running STD front springs with a HD rear. Besides riding bad (like a pickup with no load in the bed) it can have dangerous handling.

Actually it's ZR1 & 2, very cool. Check em out
Did it make a huge diff in handling or ride?
Zwede,
I thought so. If you go with HD all around should the frnt sw. bar be upgraded as well as adding the correct size to the rear? OR should I break down and replace the rear with a 9 leaf. It has to come out either way.. to replace the spring or the spacer.. What do you think?
Unless you need (want) the best possible handling, stick to STD springs. It will ride better and be a more comfortable car to drive. I have the STD springs and find them stiff enough.

Thanks, It's a decision I have to make. On the other hand I've been driving this car for 31 years and 29K with this spring. I have no complaints about the ride.
I just hope when I remove the bolts I haven't cracked the housing as some say it's a possibility.
Thanks for all your help.
I'll post when complete

OK, geez.. I thought I solved the incorrect ride height in the rear. I still need help. What is the correct length of the rear spring hanger bolts? I can't find the answer anywhere though I did come across an offsite that alluded that 6 in was correct. Even the selling vendors say standard or extended length. After reading many threads on CF my assumption was 8 in. was standard. IS IT???????

6" is stock.
I had the same ride height issue in the rear, I got the 8" bolts and dropped it down. I told myself it was because I don't have a spare and haven't looked any farther into it.

tejasak;
I never thought of a spare. I'm sparless myself though I probably have 6 to 8 gallons of fuel on board. The ride height was determined with much less. .. maybe 1 to 2 gallons, I forgot what the AIM stated. Do you have a 7 or 9 leaf spring?
Maybe I'll start a new thread with a photo of the assembled rear titled . . Suspension Guru's "Guess what's wrong with this picture".
Thanks for the 6 inch answer.
Would you know the length of the 4 bolts that hold the spring to diff.. I believe I have the correct TRW's... My concerns is that only 5/8 +- of thread is engaged into the housing at full tourque. I noticed this during disassemble. Rule of thumb is 1.5 times the diameter of the screw/bolt for full holding power.
