Coupe or convertible???

Honestly...where you are measuring it....is kinda pointless. I am usually more concerned about the windshield pillar angle so the door glass can be adjusted.

I do not think there are any angle values in the assembly manual....maybe there is...but I have not looked just for them.

Hi Dub
It's a convertible. I'm measuring from the flat top of the rocker channel to the lock pillar. I tried to decipher AIM but didn't have much luck. Kind of on subject, but I'm guessing the hinge pillar is 90° from the rocker channel? Have you ever measured or taken notice? Thanks for the reply.

I have not noticed.

There is quite a bit of movement and allowances for this area and the doors....not an extreme amount...but it is not built to the millimeter like today's cars are being built.

Shims are used all over the place...so I would not be too overly concerned due to the striker bolt ash washers on it to get it to fit to the latch mechanism...and by altering and moving shims around at the number 2,3 and 4 body mount spots...you can actually change the gap at the doors on a convertible.

The hinge post as basically as 90 degrees...but I am more concerned with the angle of the pillar post. This is more important on a COUPE...due to you can not move the 'B' pillar on a coupe...but you can adjust your convertible top to get the windows to fit...as long as the pillar post has not SEVERELY laid itself inwards.

Hi Dub, thanks for the pointers and taking the time to reply. I hoped for the best but found rusted rockers and frame sections. Also my camera card went corrupt and I lost 90% of my disassembly pictures. It's made putting things together a little tougher. Once again thanks for the help. I think test fit..test fit..and more test fitting is in my future.

Sorry you lost your data. I hope it all goes back together well. And..obviously...if you have any concerns...please post you concerns.
