80 Vette Mufflers
As others have pointed out if you have a stock system with a cat, no muffler is going to sound that radical unless you go to a high flow cat like a magna flow.
Assuming that you have or are using a true 2.5 exhaust system like a corvette central, then dynomax Super turbo will be slightly louder than stock. The Dynomax Ultra Flo's will be loud. I have always found flow masters to be too loud for me but they do have a series that are muted.
As far as Magnaflows go, I really don't quite agree that they are slightly louder than stock-they are a straight through muffler (like the ultra Flo's) and they are very loud at wide open throttle. Forum member Karol's stock L-82 with the corvette central maganflow duals is VERY loud compared to my built 10:1 355 L-82 with Monza Turbos mufflers (no longer being made). I also have a complete 2.5 magna flow system on my 94 Mustang GT Convertible-2.5 X pipe with high flow cats, magna flow cat back system-Stand on it and it is LOUD..otherwise relatively quiet. 2001 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1 with magna flow cat back system-same straight through mufflers with magna flow resonator-with a U bend delete and the system
was LOUD..too loud-had to add a chambered resonator behind the straight through magna flow resonator. Any straight through type muffler on a system with no cats is going to be loud at high rpm or wide open throttle.
Which brings up another point: If the C3 revs low on the highway, straight through mufflers will be RELATIVELY quite but certainly louder than stock mufflers. Add 3.70 gears like on my L-82 4 speed, anything other than stock mufflers are going to be relatively loud.
Hope that helps!
