Did you use 16-gauge wire?

Current draw on a volt meter is negligible. 16 gauge will work fine, but you can go thinner with no problems.

Thanks Zwede. I have 14- and 16-gauge rolls in the basement so I am good to go. Removal of that gauge bezel is a treat but after two heater cores I know how to make it happen without breaking it. And that is very easily done.

The 14-gauge wire sounds OK. This will be a project I will report back on in several weeks. I have to return the ammeter and get the voltmeter. The company does not like electrical returns? Although I have never tried that gauge. Could be interesting.
