I'm researching all these new EFI units and have a question on the Holley. It says 4 wire hookup and one of the wires is RPM. How would you do that with a tach drive distributor?
I'm running an MSD distributor with a 6AL box. Is there an output from the box for RPM's? I haven't been able to find my instructions for my box yet so I thought I asked here....plus I'm lazy and haven't looked on the interweb either.
The MSD6 series have a tach output, which would be your rpm input to the EFI. If you want the EFI to control timing (recommended) you'll need a different distributor with either a 7-pin or 8-pin HEI module.
Neither; buy a used Holley Terminator for $1,000, sell the throttle body and flash it to the holley HP software for free and so sequential multiport injection with your tpi manifold.
Sorry guys. Life has been happening. I had a minor problem with my sniper, but we finally figured it out. Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF), it's a great unit for the price. Since I already had fuel injection, the driveability is about the same, it's just that instead of months of fine tuning, and adjusting the fuel curve, this unit tunes itself. Perfect air fuel ratio at all times. That alone is worth the price. The only disappointment is that I cannot use my computer controlled HEI with it, and I'm back to weights and vacuum controlled timing. A second minor disappointment is that the sniper is an inch taller than the Holley 4Di unit I'm replacing and had some hood clearance issues.
I need to sit down and write it all up. What happened to user friendly photobucket? Is that what everyone is still using now? I'll put some serious miles on the Vette this Saturday, then I'll write up a Sniper thread. I also owe a thread on this 383 buildup.
