Default Power Steering Pump Question

Yesterday I replaced the motor mount on my driver side. Afterwards I noticed that when I turned the steering wheel, the power steering reservoir would make a whining/knocking noise and actually move! The reservoir/pump has leaked since I bought the car in September. I did not mess with any of the brackets while changing the mount. The stud from the back of the reservoir looks secure. Any ideas folks????

This picture is worth a thousand words.

But I will add a few anyway.
1. It is best to try and determine the location(s) of the leak before just pulling the pump.

2. There is a big o-ring that seals the sheet metal reservoir where it meets the pump housing. The o-ring seal could be deteriorated or cut. Also, someone could have pried on the pump reservoir and distorted the thin sheet metal.

3. The driveshaft seal could be worn but generally a leak at that point allows PS fluid to be "flung" around the engine compartment by the spinning driveshaft and pulley.

If my memory is correct, part of the pump mount is attached with one of the motor mount bolts.

That's correct. However, the bolt is very snug.

Might the P/S pump have been put in a 'bind' when you jacked up that side of the engine? That pump and it's hardware are a pretty tight fit into that area of the engine bay.

Thank you! This turned out to be it. I loosened the nut on the stud and noticed as I moved the reservoir downwards, it stopped being so "loose" feeling. After tightening the nut, it sat much better in the bracket and didn't move when the steering wheel was turned.
