Hi guys

Have not driven my car yet other than putt it around my driveway, and through the gears up on my lift. Still working on my seats and many small details, then need to align the front end.

Ive been working on the interior the last couple months

Cheers DW

Thank you, I certainly have put the time in, and hope to be driving it in a few weeks.

X2! What finish have you used on the console, is it black wrinkle paint?

Hi M140

Yes but its a bit tricky to make it come out right. I did the entire interior trim parts and my seat bases and buckets with it. I've been playing with it for years on motorcycle parts. VHT high heat wrinkle.

Prep parts well, clean and dry. Use a promoter adhesive, any brand , one light coat of wrinkle, only a 3 minute wait and then one heavy.

I only go a 3rd coat when you have to cover more surfaces to hide things, like my 36 year old seat backs even with hours of sanding and prep .... But that makes the wrinkle larger and not what I wanted on the dash parts.

Then I use a heat gun and carefully control the wrinkle so it kicks off evenly. But you have to be careful also not to deform plastic and stay back with even strokes.

Maybe I should put a up build thread now that I have tons of photos over the last 6 months of work on this thing.

Just got me seats in yesterday, 1st car show this Saturday and all proceeds go to our veterans .

Cheers Dale

Hi Blue, thanks man.

Car is on the trailer and going to the 1st show tomorrow. I never intended it to be a show car and really don't consider it to be either, but it turned out Bitchin so what the heck. I've always wanted to go to this one since its a solute to our veterans and all the proceeds go to them as well.

Next Wed I'm taking it to my dealer to set up the alignment with the tech there on the good machine. I actually may get my first test drive pretty soon.

Have I ever shown you guys my hood I did, what the hell here it is.

I used my original 80 hood and did my own L88 hood scoop. I wanted to keep the theme of the original hood nose, plus nothing fits like the stock hood either.

Cheers Dale

Your welcome, we need to have fun some how ...... ha ha

Man that car show today was something, you pulled in and they parked you on the grass, and that was it all day until 4 PM.

561 cars entered .......... pretty cool

They really didn't have a class for my car so I had to go in 1974 + modified and really did not stand a chance.

It was good fun though and a beautiful day here in Reno NV.

Does Richmond still offer the 3.01 1st gear ROD? I have a 3.36 axle ratio in my 1980 4-speed. 3.27 1st seems too low.

Default ROD lube and shifter question

Just bought a 69 Vette with and ROD and Long shifter, The lube probably needs to be changed so I am curious what kind of lube are you guys using in yours?

Richmond recommends theirs but you know how that goes

Also not too crazy about the Long shifter what is the verdict on others?

I use the Red Line NS oil in my Richmond 5 speed. I believe the Long is the only shifter available for that transmission. They are generally well thought of shifters. Enjoy the car!

where did you get the Richmond shift pattern placard and what is it made of?

My Vette had a 6 speed placard made of plastic but it didn't have the Richmond logo on it so I ordered one off the web. It didn't say what it was made of and when it came it was a like a skinny piece of rigid paper material and it was already scuffed and wouldn't hold up for long. I thought about putting something over it but ended up sending it back
