Default Tire tub refinish

Just wanted to share my tire tub refinish with you. Picked up this tub from Allc3me (David) a couple of weeks a go. Big thank you to David. I fixed a couple cracks and sanded it down repainted the metal. Shot the whole thing with semi gloss clear(spray can). I couldn't be happier with the results

Hi oc,
Very nice results!
I'm interested in the rivets used to attach the tub to the carrier.
Maybe a close up of one of them from the outside and inside of the tub?
Thanks very much.
Regards,
Alan

I do not think that he removed the metal support.

It turned out really nice.

When I do these tubs...I take them apart and clean them and actually use my mold release wax and apply several coats and polish off the wax. When they are done,...they have a superb luster to them that noting will stick to for a long time. I also use the mold release wax on good clean factory fiberglass floor boards. So for my customers who drive their Corvettes after they have been restored...cleaning up some of these parts is a snap.

Hi Dub,
I didn't think he'd removed the rivets…. that's why I'd like to see them.
I'm looking at original rivets for that application because I'm seeing some rivets that appear to have been set with a tool that gave the 'mushroom' a certain shape.
Regards,
Alan

Like this…. it's on a very original 69.
