hi. had to fix my oil pressure gauge and check the water temp. gauge and while i was in there i installed new bulbs. pulled on the headlight switch and and the only bulb that worked was the door ajar light.the AIM shows a ground wire on page number L283. i did not see one on my panel.i wonder if the panel grounds when everything is screwed together. btw is a 71 coupe. can't believe all the bulbs are bad,i just think i'm missing something. fuse is good, never had the lights on before, all other lights work
Hi cdw,
Did you have the body of the gauge bezel grounded?
I can't quite tell from your post if the bezel is now installed or not.
ANY chance the rheostat on the headlight **** got turned all the way to dim?
Regards,
Alan
thanks for the reply. no i did not see a ground from the metal bezel to ground. i just put a nylon zip tie on the panel to hold it up while i checked everything out. i'm thinking the ground on the temp. gauge might be the ground for all the inst. lights. i checked the restate once but i'll do it again. got to be something simple. i might try a test ground to see if that works. seems like with one wire going to the inst. lights that the bezel would have to be grounded.

thanks for the reply. i'll check the ground wednesday. all the wires on temp. gauge look good and solid. seems odd that none of the inst. lights would work. the door ajar light looks like it has its own ground.
