Default 1968 Engine and assembly question

I have a novice questions.

For 1968 were all Big Blocks for 1968 made in Tonawanda? and In 1968 were all Corvettes assembled in St Louis?

Thanks

Yes assembly was at St Louis, and was up to till about, I believe 1981, when they switched to BG Kentucky.
I'm also pretty sure that all big blocks were not made exclusively at the Tonawanda plant, I however cannot remember the other engine plant at this time though for the life of me, but someone on the forum will know for sure.

I wouldn't bet the family ranch on it, but I always thought all big blocks were built at Tonawanda and small blocks at Flint. Vehicle assembly at the time was in St Louis.

Hi,
drw can bet the ranch on it…during the 68-72 period all bb engines came from the Tonawanda (T) plant, and sb engines from the Flint (V) plant, and all Corvettes were assembled at St.Louis.
Regards,
Alan

Yes. Regardless of model year, all Corvette big blocks were assembled at Tonawanda and shipped to St. Louis.

Yes. Corvette production began at St. Louis in December, 1954 and continued there through August 1, 1981. The new plant at Bowling Green began production on June 1, 1981 and continues in operation there today.

My dad is retired from tonawanda engine plant . all corvette bb engines were forged at tonawanda sum were assembled at flint, if tonawanda was backed up in bb truck and marine engines. He was skilled trades and removed alot of the bb lines after 76.
