C3 headlight
Hello,
I'm new to the site and had a question about the c3 headlights. I have a 74 and replaced most of the vacuum system except for the vacuum relay valves. My problem is the headlights start to come up together but then the drive side stops about a quarter of the way up until the passenger side is completely up and then goes up. The opposite when going down. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Hi B,
Welcome!
First Post! Great!
The vacuum headlights can be a bit of a puzzle!
If you happen to have a small vacuum pump with a gauge on it you can test each part of the system individually.
But, I'll start by suggesting that you reverse the 3 large hoses on each relay. (Move the hoses so the right side relay is controlling the left side actuator and vice-versa.)
If your headlight symptom switches sides too it's likely the RELAY.
If it doesn't, it's likely the ACTUATOR on the slow side.
Try it!
Good Luck!
Regards,
Alan

Both of the actuators are new along with the fliter and check valve and I have replaced all of the vacuum lines. I blelive the relays are good but I'll switch the hoses to see what happens. If I still have the same problem could it be something other then the vacuum system? Thank you for the help.

Here's a good 'How-to' it shows you how to test each component.
