Default How Does This Work?

I want to pull this.

The tool I'm told by the manual to use is this. J-23072

I'm looking at this.

Does the 4-hole plate here have something to do with it?

Just stupid I guess.

Thanks in advance.
Steve

There is a [wire] snapring holding the housing onto the column. Remove it and the 4-hole plate should come off.

And, there is a BIG difference between being "stupid" and being "uninformed". You are intelligent enough to ask the right questions....

Default Bubba

I found I could remove it by,

a) suspending (holding by cupped fingers) the whole assembly by the bottom of the bowl and having an assistant hit the center tube (protected with a PVC pipe adapter) with a large hammer, and

b) once the tube's top is flush with the bowl, the bottom of the bowl can be pried up and off the tube with a Yankee screwdriver, using the conveniently placed slots in the outer tube.

As stated in a previous thread I found, the bowl isn't on the tube very tight.

And did I state the column was apart before?

Thanks Bubba!
