No worries! For what it's worth, I love my Fitech.

ClWI and other Sniper people: Tell me what you think after year or more of using your sniper. Here, I have to decide which route to go: Fitech w FCC ( assuming they fixed their FCC issues) or get sniper with in line fuel pump. Don't really feel like to drop the tank and add another adventure after spending $20K in this thing. Trying to use existing 3/8 and 1/4 feed/return line and make something "reliable" without calling AAA. ( I drive few times a year to Canada from here in D.C Area). Please input...
1971 coupe 496 BB, TKO 600.

I've had my Fitech with FCC up and running since a bit before Christmas, have put about 4,000 miles on it including 1,000 miles with my wife in 5 days, and a couple of hillclimbs. No dramas whatsoever, and it runs great! Upside on the sensor front is that it's all standard GM sensors, so a problem shouldn't leave me stranded for long.

Did you feel the lower fuel consumption?

I had a stock L48 engine prior, backed by a 4 speed. I achieved a best economy with that of 16.5L/100km (~14.3 US MPG), normal was around 18.5L/100km (12.7 US MPG).

I installed the Fitech at the same time as a TKO600 5 speed (with only 0.82 overdrive, I still have 3.36 gears) and a ~500hp 388 stroker. I haven't done a nice easy highway tank of fuel, but I expect I would drop down to at least 12L/100km (19.6 US MPG) if I did, I have averaged between 13 and 14.5L/100km (18.1-16.2 US MPG) from every tank. It's not an economy car, but it's a lot better, and that's with a bigger and much more powerful engine. I suspect I could probably lean out the cruise a bit more for a further improvement too, but I'm very happy with it at this point.

I really installed the fuel injection for driveability (vs the big double pumper carb I would otherwise need to get the most from this engine) and engine life (not washing down the bores on startup etc), but the fuel economy is definitely a nice improvement too.
