Default Two wires, no idea

69, left headlight area, these 2 wires are taped in with the headlight pigtail. This is the first time I've been in the headlight area, they worked perfectly, so if it works, don't fix it.

Any way, I've looked on the interwebs, and can't find anything. I've also searched here, and can't find anything. The wires that cut clean are yellow with a green tracer, the other is black.

Anybody have an idea what they are? I can only think they would be the headlight door warning light. But, I've been wrong before. Thanks

That connector is out of the headlight pigtail plug. I'm cleaning them before the headlight upgrade. That's why this all came about.

Do you have a wiring diagram???

I have to assume you are referring to the black wire with the red stripe on it....and the other is the wire that has red paint on it???

Then YES..it is for the warning switch.

The wire that has the terminal crimped on it...I assume goes in the headlight wiring connector??? and has come out.

You might be correct that the wires are for the 'Headlamp Warning Light'.
Does the warning light ever go on as the headlights open?

I do not have a wiring diagram. I looked at the taped area, where I was pointing to, and it's a yellow with a green tracer, and a black. And you're correct, they have paint on them (Kills me when people don't know how to mask off properly for painting, painter for 41 years) The wires have the brandywine color on them, but if you look close to the tape is, you can see the yellow, and it has a green as well. The other is straight black. At least, that's what I'm seeing after cleaning them off

And I said the terminal end is from the headlight pigtail, correct sir. Thanks

Maybe that yellow wire is old, and was originally white. That would make sense. Thanks guys, I think y'all solved the mystery!!!!

Hi,
Here's an example of one of the headlight warning switch and it's connection to the forward lighting harness.
Regards.
Alan

Thank you Alan. It took me a second to get oriented, I did the drivers side and this is the passenger side

That's what they are. Some bubba couldn't fix them before me and cut them off. Thanks Bubba, one more thing of yours to fix now.....
