I'm in the process of restoring trailing arms. While awaiting their return I got a set of numbers off the rear for identification. As follows.l; AW 083 E 2. I believe it's a 3.08 ratio according to NCR. How to decode other numbers and letter? Any info? Also in pic there is what looks like a vent. Just above universal on top of the rear. White plastic tube with a cap. Purpose?

Just in front of the strut rod bracket on the drivers side is the casting date. It will be a letter, then 2 digit number, then a single digit. Example d 22 6 April 22 1976
