I started out only planning on replacing my leaking Heater Core, and everyone know how that goes... The "while I am in there" list included new shift console, drivers side instrument cluster dash pad, quartz clock upgrade, etc..
I am trying to install the shifter plate on the console (automatic) and the shifter seals/sliders are contacting the a/c controller , causing it to bind ..(this happens when moving the shifter to park)
I already ended up having to replace the original a/c controller because the plastic shift shaft seals pushed one of the little pulley wheels off of the a/c controller and was lost..
This is on a 69 automatic with a/c..
Any Ideas on this?

If what Alan posted does not work. A lot has to do with IF you have the A/C controller correctly caged in with the shift plate when it is being installed.
When both are correctly together. There should be no gap at the bottom area of the A/C controller in relation to the shift plate. THUS...this means it is UP high enough.
